I really have to share a testimony. My refrigerator went out on Oct. 26th. My wife is in Germany, and food's already a big deal for me without her, but then the fridge went out too?! It felt like I was living in the third world, or camping out! Long story short, the fridge was supposed to be under a warranty (we didn't buy it; it came with our house), but getting it fixed was taking days and days. Then I was told it wouldn't be covered at all! A really nice fridge, but what good is that if the compressor's out?
Well, I go to a home group on Sunday nights. It's a group formed with the goal of planting a Vineyard church in coming months. I asked for prayer at the group last Sunday night. The next morning, I received a call saying LG, the fridge maker, would not honor the warranty, so I was just "out of luck." I didn't know what to do, being a full-time student without any income and all. I had really hoped having the group pray with me about this would bring a breakthrough of some kind, but it sure didn't look like such a thing was forthcoming. I just walked the floors praying. Well, a young Mexican man is going to be staying at my house while Lynn is gone, because he needed a place, and his father-in-law lives next door. Turns out he had a fridge he could loan me. We rolled it up here on a dolly and put it in our dining room. That was a big help. At least I could have food in the house again, milk for cereal, a place to put leftovers, etc. But no sooner had we set it up than I received another call, telling me that now LG will honor the warranty and they're coming this Friday to install a new compressor. That was really a very obvious answer to prayer! It was so surprising, given the earlier call saying nothing could be done. I can't tell you how inconvenient it is not having a fridge. You really don't know what you've got till it's gone! But for me, to not have my wife or a fridge, man, that was just really too much! I needed a breakthrough, and this was a good one. So I am so thankful to God for this answer and provision for me, and I just thought I should share that with my friends who read this blog.
Maybe LG stands for Let God. It seems as though he got involved.
Ha ha, Let God? That’s great, thanks…
I like it!
Thanks for sharing that Warren. Just reminds us that God cares about every little detail of our lives.
