Two really good men, Nicodemus, a Jewish synagogue ruler, and Cornelius, a Gentile who really respected and sought to please God, both had to find out why being religious and seemingly doing all the right external things wasn’t enough to live a Christian life and be acceptable before God. They both had to find out about the inner experience of being born in the Spirit, and how God’s Spirit in us is the not-so-secret “secret” to the Christian life.
