Lynn and I just got back from two weeks in Blacksburg, Virginia, where we’d gone to visit our daughter Allison, working on her doctorate at Virginia Tech, her husband German, and their four boys. It was beautiful there with the Fall colors on brilliant display.
I’ve been continuing to preach, teach, and participate in prayer meetings at Pan de Vida. One of the Sundays, we even had a guest preacher who spoke in English while I translated by telephone from Virginia. The wonders of technology!
I’m seeking to do more in my latter years however. I’ve recently read a tremendous book, Third Education Revolution, edited by a man I highly respect, Dr. Vishal Mangalwadi. The book so stirred me as the various authors wrote of how the Church discipled nations throughout the centuries, through education. I’d known of this from my studies of church history and have spoken about it for years.
However, I was so moved by this book that I contacted their website and a couple of their authors to ask if there was any way I could be of service to them in their vision. Yesterday I was on a Zoom call with many of them from places all over the world. Some interaction has gone on between me and Vishal and some others. I so hope to become more involved with these folks and become a part of this education revolution, in whatever way God allows me to. I would covet your prayers for me as I pursue this.
Meanwhile, this Sunday I will return to preaching at Pan de Vida and my series through the Book of Beginnings, the Book of Genesis. Though I haven’t posted any videos lately on the website, I also hope, as time allows, to get back to posting things here in Spanish and English. Please stay tuned! Meantime, may the Lord bless you all!
